New to the Sound Urchin family of instruments, The Sound Urchin Piezo Impedance Buffer. Our Piezo Impedance Buffer is based on the same circuit as our hydrophone.

The Sound Urchin Piezo Impedance Buffer will take your contact mic recordings from dull and tinny to full and dynamic.

Comes with a FREE basic contact mic.

– 1/4″ input for your contact mic
– balanced XLR out
– uses Texas Instruments OPA1642 opamp
– Dual OPA version available

This design requires P48, phantom power, like you get from portable recorders, etc.
