Hing Hon ek-001 (circuit bent)

One of the best circuit-bending targets out there!

In terms of circuit-bent keyboard toys, it doesn’t get much better than a Hing Hon ek-001 with its impressive dual polyphony, and square wave sound. They can go from the fun and happy stock sounds to sounding heavy, and crazy brutal. Packed with 8 drum patterns and 8 keyboard sounds, it even has 4 drum pads to trigger the bass, snare, cymbal, and cowbell sounds.

This one has been heavily modified, and the attached breakout box includes:

• Master pitch control
• 2 separate feedback loops, each with knob or photocell control selectable by on/off/on switch.
• 3 body contacts to pitch the sounds up and down by touch
• Ultra-Gain Switch to distort the output
• 3 push buttons for 3 different types of output stutter
• 1/4″ output jack with a speaker kill switch
• No Crashing!

You can also still use the stock microphone input, and standard 1/8″ output. When all toggles are off and the pitch is set correctly this functions as a regular Hing Hin Ek-001.
